Requests to music services

Search, catalogue browsing, playback, artwork and downloads contact YouTube/YouTube Music and, only when configured and enabled, JioSaavn. Lyrics may be requested from LRCLIB and the app’s fallback lyrics providers. Those services receive requests needed for the feature, including your IP address and search or track information, and apply their own policies. Availability is not guaranteed.

Optional account connection

Connecting YouTube Music opens its sign-in flow. Session cookies are stored in this installation’s local app storage and used for account features such as playlists and likes. They are sensitive credentials; do not include them in bug reports. Disconnect the account in Settings when you no longer want it linked.

Saved on your device

Favorites, history, preferences, playlists, cached metadata and downloaded audio are stored locally. Removing the app or its container removes that local data under the installer’s and iOS’s storage rules. A LiveContainer host controls its guest environment; use a host you trust.

Provider keys and artwork

Musyn contains no bundled JioSaavn media URL key. A key you enter is stored in iOS Keychain on this device and excluded from diagnostics. Keychain material may survive reinstall; remove it in Settings before uninstalling if you want it deleted. On iOS 26, automatic artwork is enabled unless you turn it off in Appearance. The selected track’s title, artist and album are used to find a matching animated cover through Apple’s public iTunes catalogue and Apple Music album pages. Apple receives these requests and your IP address; Musyn sends no account cookies, playback-source credentials or bundled catalogue token. Suitable clips are cached locally, up to 80 MB or 20 clips. Clear them in Settings → Storage & diagnostics → Clear Artwork Cache. New lookups are suppressed in Offline mode, Reduce Motion and Low Power Mode. Tracks without a confident match or suitable clip retain still artwork. Spotify Canvas lookup is not included.

Optional lock-screen lyrics

When enabled in Appearance or the player’s More menu, Musyn requests timed lyrics and shows the current line in place of the lock-screen artist. People who can see your lock screen may see these lines. Turning the feature off restores the artist. Tracks without timed lyrics retain the artist; Musyn does not invent timestamps for plain lyrics.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics never upload automatically. The Support screen shows a redacted preview, removing configured keys, credentials, URLs, emails and local paths. Song names and timings can remain. If you confirm an upload, that preview is sent to dpaste.com as a public link with a requested seven-day expiry. Anyone with the link can read it. Creating an issue opens a public GitHub draft; you decide whether to submit it. Review all content before sharing.

Optional vocal reduction and lyric artwork

Sing along on iOS 18+ downloads a checksum-verified 31 MB public model from Hugging Face once. Audio is downloaded locally when necessary and separated on your device; no audio is uploaded. Temporary input files are removed after preparation. The model and up to five prepared tracks (200 MB, plus files retained during playback) stay locally. Preparation takes time and results vary. Lock-screen lyric artwork on iOS 26 is rendered locally from timed lines. It can be visible to anyone who sees your lock screen; disable it in Appearance to restore normal artwork. iOS controls expansion and refresh.

App analytics and website statistics

Musyn has no advertising or analytics SDK added by Voryn Labs. This website uses the studio’s existing Cloudflare Web Analytics integration for aggregate website statistics. GitHub Pages, GitHub, Cloudflare and Google Fonts receive their own website requests. See the studio website privacy policy.
